I have made the goal to try and listen to 365 albums this year, most of them being ones I haven't listened to in full/uninterrupted before. I also have made the goal to make a cd fore every month of the year, of my new favs from albums I had listened: you can take a listen to them under the MIX OF THE MONTH column. Albums labelled with a ⭐ indicate my favourites and albums with 🔁 before them indicate ones I hve listened to before. You'll also see an album randomizer in the left column if you want music recommendations based on my favs or genres (this is a wip) if you're bored and want new recs :D

fav track: At Your Funeral
genre: post-hardcore, 2nd wave emo
it was nice :3
fav track: Loiter for the love of it
genre: indie rock, twee pop, slacker rock
i liked it. it was very fun but a little discordant sometimes, but ik that was on purpose. it was good just maybe not the easiest music to listen to while doing homework
fav track: Sorry Not Sorry
genre: indie rock
listened to this album because im going to a tigers jaw concert (yay my fav band!!) in june, and this band is opening for them. I liked this album, but some of the songs sounded kinda the same
fav track: Crawl

despite not being able to understand the lyrics because they are in japanese, I still really enjoyed it. very cute and happy :3
fav track: Don't Wake Me Up & You Are the Moon
genre: indie, pop/rock, baroque pop
I liked it a lot. felt like spring. also reminded me alot of early p!atd :) probably because of the baroque pop elements and the male vocals... wait nvm that literally is brendon urie on the vocals of Don't Wake Me Up lol
fav track: Kelsey
genre: electropop/indietronica, scene
kinda cringey but fun and nostalgic pop music nonetheless :P
fav track: Help I'm Alive
genre: indie rock, electropop/indietronica, post-punk revival, canadian

fav track: Roses/Lotus/Violets/Iris
genre: indie pop, alternative dance
listened to this cause i love her album ego death at the bachlorette party. altough i like her other album better, it was still pretty good
fav track: Brightly Wound & Golly Sandra
genre: indie pop, deam pop
I found this cd at the thriftstore and got it even though i had no clue about the band but the classic 2000s sepia and emoesque looking cover drew me in. I was pleasently surprised cause often mystery cds can kinda suck but i overall enjoyed this album and loved a few of the songs. I loved the vocal harmonies and the whimsical narrative to the lyrics!
fav track: N/A
genre: electropop/indietronica,
there was nothing too standout to me. granted, I was listening to this while drawing and i kinda liked it but still ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

my least fav silverstein album so far, but they're still consistently really really good
fav track: Amore Mio
genre: post-hardcore, 5th wave emo, screamo, canadian
trying to get more into my local post-hardcore scene and i liked this EP from this Victoria BC band a lot. waiting for when the have a show here now
fav track: Miss U
genre: dance-pop, progressive-house
I found this EP through a Gerard Way edit on Instagram. How beautiful can the internet be? I am a big fan of whatever this is. It kinda sounds like if they made 2010s retail music that actually sounded good and added a dash of extra whimsy :P
fav track: ICANTDOITALONE & RICHMAN
genre: electropop/indietronica, crunkcore
Is it trashy? Yes. Absolutely. Did I also enjoy it? Yeah :3
fav track: Up Against The Wall
genre: indie pop/rock
this is a relisten and i highly reccomend it! the album is so cohesive and very fun to listen as a whole experience. it feels like pure spring. ut's so good that it makes me whish I could travel back in time to the days of peak indie-hipster purgatory :P
fav track: The Sun but actually all of them they're all amazing
genre: post-hardcore, 4th wave emo/emo revival
this is a relisten of one of my favs! LISTEN TO IT. it's soooo good. although it isn't my fav tigers jaw album, its what got me into them and ever since they have been my favourite band. they are also AMAZING live. can't wait to see them again :D
fav track: Prelude
genre: alt-country
reminds me of mj lenderman. ngl i prefer solo euphoria again projects a little more
fav track: I Belong To The Skies
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, mall screamo
#epic
fav track: When In Rome
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, screamo
fav track: Clarity
genre: indie pop, small room
I keep coming back to this album over and over and every time I love it (so this is a relisten). This album is truly underrated and deserves as much love as it fills my soul :3
fav track: Lullaby
genre: post-punk, gothic rock
very nice :)
fav track: Kiss Me Untill My Lips Fall Off
genre: gothic rock
pretty good but not many standout tracks to me
fav track: You're All I Have
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, canadian
I liked it quiet a lot and, although I'm not as fond of it as Discovering The Waterfront and What's Broken Is Easily Fixed, Silverstein continues to consistently put out enjoyable albums form what I have heard so far. I still definitely recommend it and I can't tell you enough how awsome my the guitar soundsin You're All I Have are
fav track: No Hardcore Dancing in the Living Room
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo
pretty cool
fav track: Angel
genre: indie rock, dream pop

fav track: Kiss Me duh it's a classic
genre: jangle pop
wasn't a huge fan. a few songs i liked
fav track: You're So Last Summer
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo
fav track: Deep Diving
genre: y2k-inspired pop, trip-hop, ,span class="genre-tag">electropop/indietronica
Wow. They managed to capture so much y2k whimsy. Wish it was longer because I listened to this EP maybe three times in a row after my first listen.
fav track: Stop The Fu*king Car
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emobr>
it was really good 10/10 recommend
fav track: Gone Sugaring

fav track: Doubtful & Grey Weather
genre: indie folk
So sweet and beautiful :)
fav track: How It Feels To Be Something On & Every Shining Time You Arrive
genre: post-hardcore, 2nd wave emo
Nothing can compare to my sunny. The album cover perfectly captures the feeling of this album. like warmth encircling through a void that feels like like chaos and calm simultaneously
fav track: Build God, Then We'll Talk
genre: pop punk, emo-pop, dark cabaret, baroque pop
I love the burlesque of it all if that makes sense. It is very baroque-pop, dramatic and kinda horny but also so cunt. Thank you Ryan Ross.
fav track: Feeling Like I Do
genre: alternative rock
Pretty cool rock album with some decent songs. Worth listening to because you might love it, but I thought it was okay
fav track: Polish Girl
genre: electropop/indietronicasynthpop, chillwave
Uhhhh helloo?! How had I not heard of this album before this?! It was so magical. It is both the type of album I could imagine tracks playing in the club (I wish) but also one I could fall into a light slumber to in a good way
fav track: The Reeling & Little Secrets
genre: electropop/indietronica
now THIS is what i wanna hear in the club. feels like pure sunshine and joy :3
fav track: Faces In Disguise & Tearing in my Heart
genre: post-hardcore, 2nd wave emo
Gosh I just love Sunny Day Real Estate! After listening to this album I couldn't stop listening to Faces In Disguise on repeat - it's the type of song you can just lay down, close your eyes to, and just feel the music.
fav track: Deep Red & Third Degree
genre: post-hardcore, 4th wave emo/emo revival
Very beautiful post-hardcore vocals and instrumentals. I love how there are echoey bits or reverb in the songs; this especially stood out to me around 0:30 in Third Degree. It really makes the music feel very moody and brings a soft element that goes nice with the vocals.
fav track: Bulletproof Heart & The Kids From Yesterday
genre: Pop punk
I found The Black Parade much harder to enjoy than MCR's earlier works, so I think I have to give it a second chance. I think I just might be biased to their more chaotic/raw and less polished work that's more on the post-hardcore side.
fav track: I Don't Love You
genre: Pop punk
I found The Black Parade much harder to enjoy than MCR's earlier works, so I think I have to give it a second chance. I think I just might be biased to their more chaotic/raw and less polished work that's more on the post-hardcore side.
fav track: Cemetrey Drive & This Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, emo-pop
Soooo good I love Gerard's mind; the storytelling/storyline is so good! Although I didn't love every song, there are many standout songs and it was a very cohesive album that was very fun to listen to for the first time.
fav track: Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo
MY FAVOURITE MCR ALBUM. I don't even care if the production isn't as good as their other albums, it is so raw and beautiful and you can hear the pain in Gerard's voice (prob from his dental issues lol). Not my first listen, but the more and more I listen to it the better it gets. There is not a SINGLE bad song on this album!
fav track: Romantic
genre: indie rock, punk
It was too short for my liking and I much preferred the I Got Heaven LP to this one, but there were still some solid tracks. still my fav modern punk band tho :3
fav track: In ár gCroíthe go deo & I Love You
genre: indie rock, gothic rock, post-punk
I don't really know how to describe this album besides for hauntingly beautiful. Solid all the way through and quiet a few tracks I love :)
fav track: Seven Years
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, mall screamo
Loved it! Anthony Green has a beautiful voice :3
fav track: A Boy Brushed Red Living in Black and White
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, mall screamo
I liked it alright on first listen; i liked the instrumentals but didn't really connect to the vocals tbh. this is the kinda album that i think would take me a couple more listens to properly appreciate it
fav track: Ides of March & My Heroine
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, mall screamo canadian
I continue to be pleasently surprised by how much enjoy silverstein's albums! This is definitely another no-skip album form me and I can't get enough of silverstein. GOATED canadian band B-)
fav track: Scientist Studies
genre: indie rock, emo-adjacent?
I wasn't a huge fan of this dcfc album compared to plans and transatlanticism as there weren't any standout tracks for me. Maybe I just need to give it a re-listen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
fav track: Giving Up & Red Light Pledge
genre: post-hardcore, 3rd wave emo, mall-screamo canadian
Great first album to listen to this year; it was such an enjoyable listen with banger after banger. I went into this only knowing a few songs but this became one of my absolute favourite albums to listen to all the way through. i loved the mix of melodic parts and screaming parts; the vocalists voice is so good! can't wait to discover more silverstein!
